 Sunday Gatherings

We meet every Sunday.  Our doors open at 10:00 am and mass begins at 11:00 am.   We are located in the Sacred Space at First Christian Church in Olympia. (701 Franklin Street Southeast, Olympia, WA 98501). Parking is available on the streets around the Church, and also check out parking at the Library. First Christian holds its services at 10:45 am and we will be sharing our coffee socials.  You are invited to bring something to share.

Todos son bienvenidos

We enter Ordinary Time: Mass begins at 11:00 am. Our next gathering is the Fifth Sunday of Ordinary Time on February 5th. See Sunday Readings.

We open the doors at 10 am so newcomers can come early and ask questions before the liturgy.  Of course, our regular members often come early, too, just for that extra time to visit, and for conversation.  All are welcome!  Feel free to just drop in.

•We share leadership for the celebration of our Eucharistic Liturgies, and have community participation in these liturgies.  Our priests are Mother Kedda Keough and  Father David Gerardot, the co-pastors for Emmaus ECC.

Time for companionship.
After our Eucharistic Liturgy we like to hang around together and catch up with each other, and of course -- eat!  We share the coffee social with members of First Christian Church. Their worship service is just about the same time as ours.

 Business Meetings

As for business, we like to take care of that on Sundays, too.  We usually meet right after celebrating liturgy.  Our leadership style is collaborative, as we believe in shared leadership.  All members may participate in the decision-making process, and in fact are encouraged to share their wisdom with each other.  For ECC having the full participation of lay members in decision making is essential.

Administration:  a couple of us take care of the little things that come up between meetings, and will consult with other members by email or phone when necessary.

See Quaker Decision-Making Process  This process is very good for those truly important decisions.

 Other

Feast Days.  To the best of our ability we celebrate all the major feast days of the Church.  It is best to check here to see what is coming up next.

Retreats, etc.
There will be a retreat for the whole NW ECC Region on October 1-2, 2011. It will be at the Seabeck Conference Center in WA.  Go here for more information and to register.

Watch for retreats, special events and other occasions to get together.

Outside Events

  • All Creation Waits ... dedicated to the challenge of Christianity. You can read Rev. Kedda's homilies here.
  • St. Ignatius ECC in Seattle.  Find more information at St. Ignatius.
  • ECC Synod  took place on October 26 – 30, 2010 in St. Louis MO
.  Go to the Ecumenical Catholic Communion web site to see more information about this Synod, and check out the latest ECC constitution.  Next Synod is expected to occur in October 2012 in California.

All excellent faith communities are the result of the full, active participation of the members.  Spend some prayerful time considering the ways that you will participate in Emmaus ECC.   All of us have been given many gifts for the sake of the community. Do not be shy about letting your contact person know what gifts you have been given to share.
